Eligibility Criteria
Solar Hot Water Installation

Installation Eligibility Requirements

IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to check and confirm your eligibility under the program. The Solar New England Region Program is a community bulk buy program, and hence, it relies on your cooperation to be sucessful. If you have any questions about your particular circumstances, please contact us.

A block of 50 applications that have been confirmed, approved and fully paid must be received before stock orders can be made and each installation stage can commence.

The first 50 applicants will receive the most heavily discounted purchase prices. The next group of participants will be able to purchase at the discounts that apply within the next stage (this may be at a different price).

Endless Solar pricing includes all components required for a complete Basic Installation in compliance with Australian Standards.

The following is included in the standard system (EB-315-E-30) supply and install:

  • Endless Solar EB-315-E-30.
  • Future Switch power saving adaptor.
  • Free delivery to site.
  • You can upgrade your standard Endless Solar system with items such as pitching frames, pump upgrades, extra tubes, an instantaneous gas boosting unit, etc. These items will be quoted accordingly and charged to your final quotation.

The following is required for a standard system installation, some deviation from this can be achieved by upgrading the Basic Installation Package:

  • Replacement of existing electric tank with straight change over to solar electrical boost.
  • Sufficient roof space that faces North (East or West facing roofs are acceptable)
  • Roof pitch between 20 – 45 degrees.
  • Maximum 9m piping distance between roof-mounted collector & ground-mounted tank.
  • Comfortable access to all installation areas including tank.
  • Single storey home.
  • Connection to a mains pressure water supply with suitable quality water
  • Connection to Off-peak 1 tariff

Note: If you do not meet these requirements, you may still go ahead with your installation, however fees for any extra system components or variations to the standard installation will be charged accordingly.

Further requirements may be identified during the site visit (if a visit is necessary). Additional charges will be quoted and confirmed with you, before the final agreement and payment is required.

Non-Standard Projects:

There have been a number of inquiries regarding non-standard projects such as hydronic under floor/radiator heating, systems not connected to the mains pressure water supply, systems connected to poor quality water and pool heating. These projects will be addressed separately to the bulk buy initiative.

Non-Standard Operating Conditions:

Please note the following important information with regards to non-standard system operating conditions:

  • The standard system supply and installation under the Solar New England Region Program (SNERP) is for an electric boosted system, system model number EB-315-E-30, manufacturer Endless Solar.
  • Standard operating conditions assume that the Endless Solar hot water system will replace an existing conventional electric storage hot water system that is connected to mains pressure water supply.
  • Gravity feed or low pressure systems are not acceptable, except where the home can be connected to mains pressure water supply, or a suitable pressure pump can be installed.
  • Please note that the new connection of mains pressure water supply, or the installation of a pressure pump, will incur extra costs outside the standard system supply and install pricing.
  • On request, Endless Solar can quote for the supply and installation of a suitable pressure pump. Please advise if you would like Endless Solar to organise a solution for you.
  • Where rain water is in use, a filter must be installed to prevent the build-up of dirt and sediment which can interfere with the proper functioning of the circulation pump and other parts of the solar hot water system.

Basic install price does not include:

  • Change over to solar with gas boosting.
  • Copper piping and lagging work (in the flow and return) that exceeds 9m.
  • Any piping work that runs beneath roof cavities, inside walls, etc.
  • Multiple storey home or difficult roof access.
  • Installation of optional extras, e.g. pitching frames, extra tubes, gas boosting units.
  • New pipe work (e.g. moving the position of the storage tank) or extra plumbing fittings/valves.
  • Electrical (e.g. new power point, advanced connections to electric tank element).

Note: There are other circumstances that may affect the final price.

Location Eligibility Requirements:

  • To qualify for the standard installation price, you must be located within 15km of a town center (Armidale, Guyra, Uralla or Walcha).
  • In locations that do not have a participating installer, residents may choose the 'Supply Only' Package, and arrange a local, qualified installer.
  • People from other areas are encouraged to participate, however, prices may vary.
  • In certain circumstances, where a customer is located in a remote area, that customer may be offered the option of paying their deposit and then waiting until there are an additional 4 customers in their area (eithin a 5km radius) that have signed up to the program, thus allowing for the efficiencies that permit the discounted price to be offered. These remote clusters will be referred to as “mini-clusters”.
  • Your assistance in arranging these mini-clusters is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
If a total of 4 other customers within a 5 km radius cannot be located, the customer(s) who have already signed up will be offered the choice of an appropriate solution that takes into account items such as transport costs and travelling costs. If you choose not to proceed, then your deposit will be refunded, less a small administration fee.

Electric Boosted Solar Requirements:

Please note the following important information with regards to the correct installation of the electric boosted Endless Solar hot water system:

The standard system supply under the Solar New England Region Program (SNERP) is an electric boosted system, system model number EB-315-E-30, manufacturer Endless Solar.

The Endless Solar system must be installed according to the Installation Manual which is provided with the supply of every Endless Solar system, and to meet the requirements of Australian Standards 3500.4.

The electric booster is designed to connect to the Off Peak 1 electric boosting tariff. If Off Peak 1 is not available, the system should be connected to the continuous electric boosting tariff with a suitable automatic timer to control the electric boost throughout daylight hours.

You must ensure that the electric boost is not able to operate during daylight hours, which can interfere with the effective solar contribution.

Auxiliary switches which are fitted to enable consumers to manually control the electric boost, are not permitted under any circumstance.

RECs and Rebate Eligibility Requirements

IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to check and confirm your eligibility for each rebate.

Please make sure you read and understand all guidelines and Terms & Conditions for each rebate you apply for. Endless Solar will not accept any responsibility for any fraudulent rebate claims.

You must apply direct for the NSW State Government and Federal Government rebates, after the installation has taken place (guidance, advice, information and application forms will be supplied by Endless Solar).

You must agree to the Terms& Conditions of Sale for the project.

RECs Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) rebate you must install a complete, standard solar hot water system.

The standard system being provided in the Solar New England program creates 32 RECs which have a value that varies. At the time of calculation each REC was valued at $45, however since that time the value has moved around. At the time of calculation the estimated value was approximately $1260, minus a processing fee of $40.

It is important to note that RECs values are subject to change.

Please see the full Terms & Conditions on the RECs rebate: http://www.orer.gov.au/swh/index.html

If you decide to use Endless Solar's chosen RECs agent, your Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) will be processed and returned to you by direct credit to your bank account.

NSW State Government Rebate Eligibility

To qualify for the NSW State Government rebate (valued at $300), you must already meet the eligibility requirements for RECs (above), and:

  • You must be replacing an existing electric storage hot water system that is at least 12mths old.
  • You must be installing the system in your primary place of residence.
  • The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person.

Please see the full Terms & Conditions on the NSW State Government rebate:
http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/rebates/ccfhws.htm

Federal Government Rebate Eligibility

To qualify for the Federal Government rebate (valued at $1000), you must already meet the eligibility requirements for the RECs, and:

  • You must be replacing an existing electric storage hot water system that is at least 12mths old.
  • You must be installing the system in your primary place of residence.
  • The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person
